Adverse Weather Forces Scotland U19 To Withdraw From Ten Nations Tournament

The adverse weather that has been hitting Scotland this week has forced the Scotland Under-19s to withrdraw from the Ten Nations Tournament in Spain.

They were due to fly out to La Manga tomorrow, but due to flights from Glasgow being cancelled has left the squad with no way to fly out.

The tournament was to act as preparations for the upcoming Elite Qualifying Round tournament for this year’s UEFA Under-19 Championship. The Qualifiers will be hosted in Edinburgh this April.

The Under-19s have participated in a training camp earlier this year, and their preparations for the Qualifiers will be reviewed.

Under-19 Head Coach Pauline Hamill told the SFA of the squad’s disappointment not to make the Ten Nations Tournament.

“The well-being of the players had to be the most important factor and in these extreme circumstances the right thing to do was to get the girls back home safely to their families.”
