Excelsior Stadium, 30 October 2016, Kick-off: 1pm
SWPL 1 champions Glasgow City will be presented with their trophy at the Excelsior Stadium after their final league match against Rangers.
Last Sunday, Glasgow City made Scottish footballing history by securing their tenth title in a row and whilst they will be in a party mood, but they will want to end their season with a win. Since losing to Spartans in June, Glasgow City has won all ten of their league matches and remarkably have conceded just one goal during that period. This saw them win the title more comfortably than people thought they could back in June.
Rangers arrive on Sunday looking to secure fourth place in what will be Kevin Murphy’s final game in charge. There are only two teams who can secure fourth now, with Stirling University the other side in contention. Rangers are in great form, having won their past three games triggered by an epic 5-4 win over Spartans.
Their goal difference means they need to beat Glasgow City to be assured of their current position of fourth, leading Stirling by just two points.
Glasgow City has won all three games between the sides this season in all competitions, beating them 3-0 and 7-0 in the SWPL 1 and 3-1 in the Scottish Cup.
