Glasgow City beat relegated Forfar Farmington 3-0 to move closer towards their historic tenth title in a row. It means, if they avoid defeat in their next league fixture against Hibernian, they will be champions.
City rested players ahead of their crucial Champions League tie on Thursday against Eskilstuna United and gave a chance to several young players, but they had the right blend of experience and youth to come away with three points.
Glasgow City took the lead in the eighth minute when Clare Shine’s fizzed ball picked out Sarah Crilly who beat the keeper.
Five minutes later, they doubled their lead through Sam Kerr’s sublime finish – her first goal for City.
In the 57th minute, Glasgow City made it 3-0 when Carla Boyce passed to Crilly who drilled the ball past Fiona McNicoll.
