Forfar knew that had to win today, and that’s what they set out to do. They took the lead mid-way through the first half when Amy Gallacher struck the ball past Jenna Fife after a lovely piece of control. And it looked like they would take the advantage into half-time, but five minutes before the interval, Hibs equalised through an own-goal.
Early in the second half, Hibs took the lead when Lizzie Arnot’ cross deflected off a Forfar defender and into the net.
On the hour mark, Lindsey Dunbar brought down Chelsea Cornet in the box and Arnot converted the penalty and then Caroline Heron’s lob made it 4-1.
Late on, Hibs won another penalty when Gemma Collier fouled Arnot who converted her second spot-kick of the day, despite Forfar’s keeper Fiona McNicoll getting a hand to the ball.
Hibs remain five points behind Glasgow City whilst Forfar are sadly relegated from the division.
