Stirling University host Forfar Farmington in a key game in the relegation battle and Tartan Kicks will be there to cover it.
Win, and Stirling have nearly secured safety. It would mean that with seven games left to go, they would be ten points clear of Forfar who regardless of the result, will remain bottom. After the clerical error awarded them a win over Celtic in the final game before the break, they’ve picked up four points out of their past two matches, and have a Scottish Women’s Cup Quarter-Final to look forward to – although, it is against Glasgow City. Draw, they remain seven points ahead of their opponents. Lose, and things get interesting.
Currently, the relegation race is a three-horse battle, between these two clubs and Aberdeen. Forfar is four points behind Aberdeen, so as long as Aberdeen lose to Celtic, a draw or defeat wouldn’t be disastrous for the visitors. The worse possible scenario is that both Aberdeen win, and Forfar lose. Then, a fight against relegation would be an uphill battle. This really is a six-pointer for Forfar. They’ve now lost six league games in a row, and that run has to end in this match.
Earlier in the season, Forfar beat Stirling, a result that had Sunday’s hosts in real trouble. Forfar will look for a similar result.
