2015 Scottish Women’s Cup Runners-up Hibernian reached this year’s Quarter-Finals after beating Renfrew 19-0.
They took the lead in the fifth minute when Kirsty Smith’s cross picked out Abi Harrison who scored with a tap-in. Harrison scored her second soon after as she curled the ball into the far post.
Caroline Heron headed in Hibs’ third before Harrison completed her hat-trick with a clever chip. Heron scored her second from the edge of the box, before Rachel Small opened her Hibernian account with a lovely half-volley, in her first start since her move from Aberdeen.
In the 25th minute, Heron completed her hat-trick, pouncing upon a deflection.
Ten minutes later, Hibs made it 8-0 through Harrison’s volley that looped over the Renfrew keeper. And just before half-time, Small scored a tap-in to give the Edinburgh club a 9-0 lead at the break.
Just two minutes into the second half, Harrison scored her fifth of the game when a superb run saw her break through the defence and round the keeper. Harrison turned provider to cut back to Heron to score her fourth, and make it 11-0.
Heron got her fifth goal in the 60th minute, before Sarah Ewens got onto the scoresheet minutes later, converting Rachel McLauchlan’s cross. Ewens got her second minutes after, driving the ball into the roof of the net.
Harrison rounded the keeper to complete her second hat-trick, and then Heron joined her by completing her own double hat-trick to make it 16-0.
McLauchlan meandered through the defenders to make it 17-0 in the 83rd minute before Heron scored her seventh of the game from Emma Brownlie’s corner. In the 90th minute, Ewens completed her hat-trick.
