Celtic came from behind to beat Forfar Farmington in the all-SWPL 1 clash to reach the Quarter-Finals of the 2016 Scottish Women’s Cup.
Forfar Farmington took the lead in the 24th minute. They had nearly taken the lead through Megan McCarthy’s header, but Celtic keeper Megan Cunningham had tipped the ball onto the crossbar. However, from the corner, Amy Gallacher scored with a superb header.
However, five minutes later, Celtic equalised when Heather Richards’ corner picked out Abbi Grant who beat the keeper.
Unfortunately, Forfar’s Alana Bruce suffered a nasty looking injury to her arm.
In an even second half, it was Celtic who took the lead in the 67th minute after a long ball caused Forfar’s defence problems and Richards took advantage.
And then late on, Celtic made sure of their progression through Ruesha Littlejohn who scored her first goal for Celtic since rejoining from Glasgow City.
