Before the mid-season break, Keenan had a trial spell with the nine-in-a-row SWPL champions and provided the assist for Clare Shine’s winner against Aberdeen.
Keenan will provide versatile cover at the back as she can play at full-back and central defence.
She has 10 caps for Ireland at the Under-19 level and played a full part in their campaign to qualify for the 2016 UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship. They finished second in their Qualifying Gropu, which allowed them to reach the Elite Group – the final stage of qualification. Drawn in a group with Germany, it was going to be a hard ask, and a 1-0 defeat to the Germans meant they finished second in the group. Unfortunately, this meant they could not qualify, even as the single best runners-up. Keenan played all six games, picking up one assist.
Speaking to the Glasgow City website, Keeva said, “I am delighted to have been given the chance to be part of such a successful team. It’s a great club and I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I really look forward to meeting up with the squad and to get going.”
Glasgow City Head Coach Scott Booth also complimented her strong character, technical ability and her drive, believing it meant she would fit in with the squad.
