Albyn Park, 22 June 2016, Kick-Off: 8pm
Hibernian host Stirling University at Albyn Park tonight, with both sides looking for a key result.
The past week has seen huge twists in Hibernian’s season. Last Wednesday, they won their first trophy since 2011, having beaten Glasgow City in the SWPL Cup Final. And then last Sunday, Glasgow City lost to Spartans whilst Hibs beat Stirling University. That meant the gap between City and Hibs was reduced down to five points.
Win today, it will be reduced to two points. If they do pick up a victory, it will make the title race a more even battle between them and City.
Stirling University is sitting at the other end of the table in eighth place, but if they fail to lose, they will move up to seventh.
And although they last Sunday against Hibernian 3-0 (with Sarah Ewens, Emma Brownlie and Lizzie Arnot scoring for the Edinburgh side), they will come into the game looking for at least one point to move off the bottom of the table.
After this match is played, both Hibs and Stirling will have played ten games as has all the other SWPL 1 sides.
