Aberdeen finally picked up their first win of the SWPL 1 as they beat Stirling University 3-1 to leapfrog them.
Aberdeen could have taken the lead in the 5th minute when a shot was saved by Stirling’s Taylor Brown, but in the 12th minute, they took the lead. A corner was saved by Brown, but Faye McDonald was there to score the rebound.
But in the 25th minute, Stirling equalised. A long ball from Rachel Donaldson sent Nicole Pullar through, and she headed over the Aberdeen keeper Becky Flaherty.
Both sides had good chances soon after, but when the half-time whistle was blown the scores were still level.
In the 56th minute, Aberdeen retook the lead. The initial shot was saved by Brown, but Nikki Smith was there to place the rebound into the net.
Stirling could have equalised, but Donaldson’s shot hit the post and Flaherty smothered the rebound. Soon after, Pullar shot just wide.
But then, Aberdeen made it 3-1 through Chloe Fitzpatrick’s strike.
