Millburn Academy, Sunday 1st May 2016, Kick-off: 12:30pm
Inverness City host Jeanfield Swifts as they continue looking for their first win since October 2014.
A six-point gap has opened up between Inverness and Buchan in sixth, which highlights the importance for Inverness to get points on the table. Luckily, they are playing at home where their form has been remarkably better than on their travels.
Whilst in their away games, they have suffered heavy defeats, at home they picked up their only point of the season at home to Hutchison Vale. And even in their defeat to Hamilton, this was a close fought game as they eventually lost 5-3.
Saying that about Inverness’ away form, last Sunday, they had a 1-0 half-time lead against Glasgow Girls and came close to picking up their first away points before losing 2-1.
Jeanfield Swifts has also been a team that has been better at home than away. They’ve won two out of their three matches at home – McDiarmid Park – including their 7-2 win over Buchan last Sunday. In their two away games, they have yet to score, although they have picked up a point in a goalless draw with Hutchison Vale.
At home, though, they’ve found their goal-scoring boots, finding the back of the net 13 times. They have lost at home, but that was against Hearts.
Inverness cannot move higher than their current position of seventh with a win. If Jeanfield win, they could move up to third place.
