King’s Park, Sunday 1st May 2016, Kick-off: 2pm
Hearts will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the SWPL 2 as they host Glasgow Girls.
Hearts moved up to first last Sunday after they beat Hamilton 3-1 in the top-of-the-table clash. Whilst there was controversy regarding their third goal, it should be said that they were the better side and deserved the win. Their attacking play, especially through Ashley Carse, was a continuous thorn in the side for Hamilton.
They are unbeaten in the league and have won every single game since their opening day draw with Buchan. Hearts are also yet to concede at home in their two matches and have scored 12 goals.
Glasgow Girls moved up to third place after battling to a 2-1 win over Inverness City. They had gone in at half-time 1-0 down but goals from Maxine Fury and Lauren Coleman saw them secure a big win.
And they will be hoping to upset the odds and pick up a second win in a row – for the second time this season.
They’ve not been high scorers, scoring only seven goals as well as conceding seven – so they will be hoping for another tight game against Hearts.
Hearts will remain in first if they win, but a draw could see them drop back down to second place. Glasgow Girls are unlikely to move up to second with a win. That would see them draw level with Hamilton on points, but currently, the Accies have a goal difference of +15 compared to Glasgow Girls 0.
