A magnificent performance from Jeanfield Swifts saw them run out 7-2 winners against Buchan as they returned to winning ways.
Jeanfield took the lead in the 10th minute when a long kick from the keeper was headed on by Danni McGinley into the path of Eilidh MacIntyre who poked the ball past the keeper.
Two minutes later, though, Buchan was level after Louise Brown converted a penalty.
The rest of the first half was a tight affair, but in the 40th minute, Swifts retook the lead through McGinley’s wonderful left-footed strike.
McGinley once again was the provider for their third as she squared the ball for MacIntyre to score from close range.
And on the stroke of half-time, Jeanfield won a penalty which was converted by Donna Shaw. The penalty also saw Buchan reduced to ten players.
After a quiet start to the second half, the game exploded back to life as they scored three goals in just five minutes, and all from McGinley. Her first saw her make a clever run before finding the top of the net. The second came as MacIntyre repaid the earlier favour by setting McGinley up, who scored with a great strike. Her third was different to the early clinical nature. Rachel Todd’s shot smashed off the crossbar, and then McGinley’s header hit the bar. A scramble proceeded, but eventually McGinley turned the ball over the line.
Late on, Buchan scored a consolation through Sophie Anderson.
Jeanfield move up to fifth, whilst Buchan drop down three places to sixth.
