Ainslie Park, Wednesday 20th April 2016, Kick-Off: 7:45pm
SWPL 1 leaders Glasgow City travel to Spartans on Wednesday evening as they try and extend their lead at the top of the table.
Spartans had been the joint leaders, having won their two opening league games against Aberdeen and Forfar Farmington. But that perfect start to the league came to an end last Sunday, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat away to Rangers – after missing a first-half penalty. They will be looking to retain their dominance at Ainslie Park, having won all three games played there – including their League Cup First Round tie.
Glasgow City, on the other hand, may not be picking up the headline-grabbing results we are used to seeing, but they have been picking up wins. All three of their league victories against Stirling University, Celtic and Aberdeen have all been 1-0 victories. This means that not are they the only team yet to concede in the league, they are one of only two teams to win away from home this season. Their clean sheet record extends into all competitions.
Last season, the two clubs met four times with City winning all four matches without conceding a goal.
This is the rearranged match from the 3rd April 2016.
