Hibernian travelled up to Forfar and once again came away with a win, but this time, they came up against a much improved Forfar Farmington.
It took just four minutes for Hibs to take the lead when Lizzie Arnot cut off the wing and then picked out the top corner with a magnificent curling effort.
They could have doubled their lead soon after, but Heather Richards’ volley was well saved by the Forfar keeper Fiona McNicoll.
Forfar could have equalised when Ann Taylor’s corner picked out Megan McCarthy, but her header smashed off the crossbar.
But it was Hibs who were still on top and Joelle Murray, Arnot and Claire Williamson all had good chances to extend the lead further.
Just before half-time, Hibs made it 2-0 when Lucy Graham’s first time shot found the bottom corner.
Early on in the second half, there was a delay as Louise Magilton picked up a nasty looking injury that took eight minutes of treatment.
Just before the hour mark, Hibs made it 3-0 as Abbie Grant set up Caroline Heron who made no mistake with her finish.
But in the 69th minute, Forfar pulled a goal back through Kirsty Deans’ volley.
Hibs had chances to score a fourth late on, but neither side could manage to score another goal as it finished 3-1 to the Edinburgh side who moved up to second.
